Common carport sizes

As a rough guide, a single carport is about 3 m wide and a double carport about 5.5 m to 6 m wide, with a depth of about 5 m to 6 m to cover a normal car or bakkie. Larger vehicles, caravans, boats and trailers need more width, depth or height.

What affects the price of a carport

The size (number of bays and depth), the type of structure, the sheeting, gutters and the finish all affect the price. Free-standing carports need more posts and footings than a lean-to fixed to the house.
