Palisade fencing for homes and businesses

Palisade fencing is one of the most popular security fences in Pretoria. Its vertical pales with pointed or triple-spike tops are hard to climb and hard to cut, and you can still see through it. It works for homes, complexes, schools, factories and farms.

Fences are installed with posts set in concrete, horizontal rails and pales bolted or welded in place, then finished with primer and paint or supplied galvanised.

D-section or W-section palisade?

Palisade pales come in different profiles. D-section pales are lighter and are commonly used for homes and complexes. W-section pales are stiffer and stronger, and are usually chosen for commercial and industrial sites where security matters most. Pale tops can be single, triple-pointed or rounded.

The contractor will recommend a profile and height based on what you need to protect and your budget.

How fencing is priced

Fencing is usually priced per metre, based on the height, the profile, the finish and the ground conditions. Corners, gates and slopes add to the cost. A rough length of the boundary and a few photos are enough to start a quote.

Fencing and gates together

If you are fencing the front of the property, it usually makes sense to do the driveway gate and pedestrian gate at the same time so everything lines up and matches.

Areas we cover

We quote on fencing in Meyerspark and the rest of Pretoria East, including Silverton, Lynnwood, Faerie Glen, Garsfontein, Moreleta Park, Waterkloof, Menlo Park, Brooklyn, as well as greater Pretoria, Centurion and Midrand.

Questions about fencing

How high should a palisade fence be?

For homes, 1.8 m to 2.1 m is common. Commercial and industrial sites often go higher. Check your estate or municipal rules before deciding.

Galvanised or painted?

Galvanised palisade lasts longer with less maintenance. Painted steel gives you a choice of colour. You can also have galvanised and painted.

Can you fence on a sloping site?

Yes. Panels can be stepped or raked to follow the slope.
